An impresive start to the season so far so how does it compare with seasons gone by.... The 92/93 season will be remembered as much for early season controversy as the football...an impresive away win,5-0 against Quad at the Riverside,Huntingdons,in which one J Gathercole scored 4 was followed with a Cup game at Great Gidding.A bore draw which resulted in defeat on penalties....but a phone call from the League Secretary saved the day as we should have gone to a replay....in which we won with a penalty....... Onto 94/95...a season of change,we now play at Catworth...a new kit and off we go....3 wins and 1 defeat in the Hunts F.A Cup.....26 goals scored and 7 conceded....pick of the games was the 15-0 away win against Sapley Park and the leading scorer one Ian Wilson with four, now to be found refereing.....
The first ever opening fixture on September 1st 1991,we where called Sellers back then, was a 10-0 reverse against a team called Rowdex.....two names familiar with the club where on the team sheet ,A.Woodham and a M.Sumpter brother of departing players colin and peter..... Five years later, again September 1st, and now playing as Catworth saw a home draw 1-1 with a familiar team, BRJ, which featured, again, A Woodham the Sumpter brothers Mark Colin and Peter aswell as an emerging Glenn Symons....our scorer that day being one C Sumpter.... Last season we met Lord Protector Reserves at Victory Fields and managed a well deserved win, 10-0......scorers that day....well have a look in the Archive section for a full match report.....
